I’m delighted to share that seven parks across Edinburgh Southern have been awarded Green Flag status for 2025—a fantastic achievement that reflects the dedication of our incredible volunteers and Friends groups.

From litter-picks to conservation work, and from community events to everyday care, these efforts set the gold standard for biodiversity, cleanliness, and public enjoyment in our area.

Congratulations to the Friends groups at Braidburn Valley Park, Easter Craiglockhart Hill, Hermitage of Braid & Blackford Hill; and the volunteers at Harrison Park, Seven Acre Park, Morningside Park, and Prestonfield Park.

These green spaces are better—and more welcoming—for families, walkers, cyclists, wildlife, and everyone in between because of the work of friends groups and volunteers. Thank you everyone involved!
